Shou-Sugi-Ban
Shou Sugi Ban 焼杉板 (or Yakisugi) is an ancient Japanese technique that preserves wood by charring it with fire. The process involves charring the wood, cooling it, cleaning it, and finishing it with a natural oil.
Solid surface is a man-made material usually composed of a combination of marble dust, bauxite, acrylic, epoxy or polyester resins and pigments. It is most frequently used for seamless countertop installations. It can mimic the appearance of granite, marble, stone, and other naturally occurring materials. Solid surface is available in hundreds of colours and visual textures, ranging from solid colours to sparkling, marbelized, or granite effect.
